CHARITIES
One of the best things about being famous (besides being able to get last minute dinner reservations) is being able to help raise money and awareness for issues you care about. I lost my brother Jeff to leukemia when I was 9 years old. As part of her healing, my mother organized a dance marathon to help raise money for the Leukemia Foundation of America. Even at that young age, I saw how empowering it was to get involved and give back. That has inspired my devotion to do my part in helping make the world a better place.
Here are some of the organizations that I am most passionate about.

Obviously, having lost my brother to Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia has made me work hard to help this organization find a cure for all types of leukemia. The dollars we all give have really added up to some phenomenal treatments and cure rates. The type of leukemia by brother died from just over 30 years ago is now 90% curable!
This is the hospital where my brother was treated. The level of care and caring he received there was amazing and I have kept a long term relationship with their team of doctors and caregivers, each of whom work tirelessly to make the lives of children suffering from cancer, and their families, better. I support research as well as patient care.

Retired tennis player Andrea Jaeger started working with hospitalized children while she was still playing professional tennis. She went on to found The Little Star Foundation, which provides opportunites for children with life-threatening illnesses to spend time in Aspen skiing and connecting with other children in similar situations. Andrea contacted me over 10 years ago to come and surprise one of the campers for his 16th birthday wish. Watching Andrea and the children interact and stay connected as a support network has been inspirational for me and my family. We feel fortunate when we get to spend time with the kids!
